About the Journal

Journal of Shariah Law Review is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research and academic discourse in the field of Islamic family law and contemporary family legal studies. The journal provides a platform for researchers, academics, legal practitioners, judges, and policymakers to publish original research articles, theoretical studies, and critical analyses that contribute to the development of Islamic family law and its application in diverse legal, social, cultural, and institutional contexts. The journal is published biannually in April and October.

 

The scope of the journal includes: (1) Islamic marriage and divorce law, (2) child custody, guardianship, adoption, and child protection, (3) Islamic inheritance, wills, gifts, and family property, (4) marital rights and responsibilities, maintenance, and matrimonial property, (5) Islamic family courts, judicial decisions, mediation, and dispute resolution, (6) gender, human rights, and legal protection within Muslim families, and (7) contemporary issues in Islamic family law, including reproductive technology, digital marriage, transnational families, migration, and legal reform.

 

Journal of Shariah Law Review encourages the publication of empirical research, doctrinal and normative legal studies, comparative legal analyses, socio-legal research, and interdisciplinary approaches that address current challenges in the development and implementation of Islamic family law. The journal is committed to fostering rigorous academic scholarship and promoting innovative legal perspectives that support family justice, child welfare, gender equity, social sustainability, and the advancement of Islamic family law in contemporary society.
